Frequently Asked Questions
1) Why are you running for Select Board?
Plymouth's population is expected to grow by more than 10,000 in the next ten years. I love that the world considers Plymouth a great place to live, but think about what that means: more housing, more infrastructure, more cost for taxpayers. All of this on top of the very real concerns everyone has now about development, taxes, affordability and the environment. We need a clear, proactive plan to manage that growth so the future doesn't catch us by surprise, as it so often does. As a business person with change management expertise, I have the skills and experience to help make that happen. I see the Select Board as the team that should be building a stronger future for Plymouth and I want to be on a winning team.
2) What are your top priorities?
I share your concerns about development, affordability, taxes and the environment, and creating an actionable plan to address these issues is my priority. To me, the right foundation for creating this plan must include smart growth with responsible development, a real solution to stabilize property taxes, and a proactive plan to guide our progress.
3) How do you know you can do the job?
The role of the Select Board is to lead, manage resources, and make informed decisions in the best interest of all the people they represent, not just a select few. I’ve been doing that for decades, first in business as a partner in a top-tier consulting firm, and now, in my second career as a reading teacher in a local elementary school. An effective Select Board is all about teamwork, not ego, and bringing the right team to the table to solve a problem is what I do best.
